Happy New Year from the Yoko Miwa Trio

Happy New Year from the Yoko Miwa Trio

What are your New Year’s resolutions? Two of the most popular New Year’s resolutions last year were to “enjoy life to the fullest” and to “spend more time with family.”* But Time Magazine listed “spend more time with family” as one of the most commonly broken resolutions, along with “be less stressed.”

Why not work on any of these goals by making a point to see more live music in 2013? Bring your loved ones or treat yourself to a night out. The trio will be continuing their residencies at Les Zygomates and Ryles Jazz Club this year. An exciting one will be at the  Shalin Liu Performing Arts Center in Rockport, MA on February 15, with special guest singer Rebecca Parris. Take a look at the shows page for a schedule.

The change of the calendar always brings some changes, and this year, that’s true here at the Yoko Miwa Trio website. I am pleased to introduce myself, Tegan Kehoe, as the trio’s new blogger. I’m a music fan and an arts and culture writer based here in Boston. I’m excited to be on board.

Here’s to a great 2013!
