Scullers Jazz Club has relocated to a new and bigger room on the first floor of the same hotel. The room has a raised stage with a new sound system. The second half of the room is elevated and there are no longer any obstructions blocking your view so the sight lines are much better. They kept the historical Scullers sign from the old club upstairs as well as the legendary musical director Fred Taylor, who will be in attendance on November 17.

I loved the old room, I’m kind of disappointed. I loved the view of Boston from the windows behind the stage, and I never had any problems with my view being obstructed in all the times that I was there. Oh well, life moves on.
I’m hearing that sentiment from a lot of people John and I miss the old room too but I have to say the new room is not bad at all and once they get approval it’s going to have a much larger capacity than the old room which is one of the motivations behind the move.
