Garzone, Coltrane & Scullers

September 23 marked the birthday of quite a few notable musicians, but there are two in particular we’d like to highlight. The first is the wonderful saxophonist George Garzone, seen here with Yoko:

And of course we couldn’t let September 23 pass without remembering one of the all-time greats, John Coltrane. Here’s a video that manages to combine both a tribute to George Garzone and a tribute to John Coltrane. It’s a performance of “My One And Only Love” featuring George and Yoko. The Coltrane connection? One of the most famous performances of this song is found on the classic album John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman.
